My new year's post

Wishing everyone a very happy new year! This year, I felt I must have a new year's post. I was trying to find if there is anything unique about this year in connection to my birthday ; something like 09/09/09(thats my grandmom's bday) , cuz the year is 2010 and my birthday is 10/02...but to no avail...Found out that day was 9 years back..10/02/2001!!!

I actually starting studying for the maths exam which I have to write 5 days later. I never studied the day after the exam. But surprisingly, today I did. Maybe I was missing that connection of studying something you know, something you can score in ,for a looong time.

I know, it seems a very sad new year's eve. No big party. A small humble one with me, my sister and the radio playing english songs, the only saving grace. But still , I'm contented. I studied on the first day of new year and actually liked it too. So guess I will study well the whole year.

Like everyone says, its nice to start something on the new year's day, something you would like to do the whole year. Well, I am blogging , hoping I will blog more often this year and make my wonderful readers have a joyous experience.

Not too many messages at 12 this year..Everyone wants to avoid the traffic and send before or after the actual day starts.. Everyone is smart..me too....I suddenly wish to assume that I am studying in MIT(Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and wish everyone when it is 00.00am there. High hopes, but a year start has got to be high..on life and happiness and dreams.

So, I have a new year's post after all...that too my first random post(Every blog boasts of this one label :P)...according to GMT +5.30 though..gotta follow it as long as I'm here...May this year be filled with happiness and good results and knowledge and surely, great posts to read for me ;)

Path Of Substance

What fear to take the path untrodden,
when what lies at its end is unknown,
      what we think is ours,
       is not our very own.

Live for a reason,
as good as it can be,
    at the end of everything,
it will surface back to thee,

having crossed every path with just a clean heart,
and no inkling as to what the result would be,
this is but another path to be travelled upon,
albeit to a place none like before.

It is a road everyone has to take,
  some early,some late.

With a smile on your face,
you have jumped over every obstacle on your way,
is this the last one, you wonder,
and leave everything to the One you have always believed in.

It may look a road full of thorns and stones,
but thats just a perception, you see,
once you make your destination your destiny,
the journey has nothing to be feared by thee.

Realize each step that you take,
as it is more precious than the one you took before,
as each one takes you closer to nothingness,
a conjunction of peace and satisfaction  never more.

If good deeds have carved your life,
there is no fear left to feel,
the path is trodden with just one thought in mind,
and the end we hoped for is known and turned into real.

(P.S This is on the blog on Nisha's request :). This is one of the most thoughtful and deepest ones that I have written....something really really close to my heart)

Abode of God

Never ending diamonds on a  field of greens,
Sparkling to the tune of the birds’ song,
That is the sound of music,
That is the sound of dawn.

Those leaves rustle in a familiar way,
Those birds descend on your path,
That silence in itself, music,
That peace in itself, God.

Can the sky be so clear,
With no cloud in sight,
Maybe the man has cleansed his heart,
Soul and mind.

That gust of wind brings storiesfrom far far away,
It even takes back the stories that I narrate,

The leaves have stopped their motion,
the birds make sound no more,
my thoughts have a reached a standstill,
at the place so longed for before,

I have found my destination,
My feet need no longer trod,
As I realize I have reached,
Reached the abode of God.

(P.S. I thank the green lane and the nature filled campus that I often walk through for the inspiration and those walks where I just had my thoughts accompanying me.)
